I wondered why so many people were on the plaza on a late Monday morning. I couldn’t ask. I was an English teacher at an international school. I didn’t speak Spanish. Words were being chanted by someone with a bullhorn on the cathedral steps. Crowds chanted back. A woman held up a sign with a few words I recognized: mujeres and violencia. Women, violence
